National Women’s Health Network, 2024

In the summer of 2024, I became the Multimedia Communications Contractor for the NWHN. This nonprofit based in D.C. promoted information, access, and policy for women’s health. To support their wide variety of content, I was responsible for the NWHN’s digital content design, which included graphic design, animation, web design, and video creation. I also oversaw their website and email operations, including digital automation building and CRM management.

The NWHN has since closed their doors. My highlights from the past webpage are housed here while more of the site itself was archived on the WayBack Machine.

Web Formatting

My largest responsibility was building and posting the NWHN’s web content. Some of the projects I tacked included blog series, health tip pages, and general page updates. My overarching goal was to present content in a non-intimidating fashion that held a viewer’s attention.

These samples were built and formatted in WordPress.

Design Work

Aside from designing the nonprofit’s web content, I was required to supplement feature images (for web and social media) and additional graphics. I strived to work within the NWHN’s branding guidelines to concisely deliver their message.

These samples were created using Canva.

Email Formatting

Beyond my web and design work, I was required to format copy and images for email campaigns. These were scheduled, automated, and reached around 5,000 contacts.

These samples were created using ActiveCampaign.

Print Formatting

Alongside my web and design duties, I was occasionally asked to format online content into print-friendly documents. This is a sample of the Q2 2024 Women’s Health Activist Newsletter, created using Microsoft Word, as per company guidelines.

Documentary Screening

My final project with the NWHN was a culmination of my web, email, design, and formatting skills. I was required to:

  1. Make a landing page for the screening event (WordPress)

  2. Create a product “ticket” to facilitate online purchases (WordPress, WooCommerce)

  3. Link purchases to an automation (via ActiveCampaign), where I designed three emails to:

    1. Thank customers for their purchases and deliver the event link

    2. Remind customers the day of the event

    3. Provide customers with event resources post-screening

  4. Design feature, banner, and profile images (Canva, iStock)
